"In the first self-portrait series, I express myself as a feminist who identifies with the fight for gender equality. Through these images, I wish to raise awareness about the fight of women for their empowerment and equality. The images are accompanied by quotes from women whose presence and leadership have been very important in the fight for gender equality. Champions in this fight are Simone Boudelaire and Ruth Bader Ginsberg."

About Lali Díaz
I am a communication professional from Peru who has had a connection with photography throughout my life, although it has been an intermittent presence. However, it was during the pandemic lockdown in 2020 that I actively immersed myself in photography by participating in various online workshops. This extended period of confinement provided me with the opportunity to refine my skills and focus on still life photography. Curiosity and creativity define me as an artist, with a particular interest in still life and street. Currently, I am in an exploratory phase, venturing into different visual techniques and themes with a keen interest in self portrait and portrait. Self-portraiture has captured my attention by using my own body as a means to explore the world and express myself. I have developed a strong affinity for the expressive possibilities offered by long exposure techniques, and my first venture in this technique, with a series on life and death (Red Chair), landed me with third place for the SMAG x SPOF self portrait series, which was a great honor and has encouraged me to continue in the path of self portrait exploration.
